Your CAO Number is an eight digit number and should start with the year of application. i.e. If applying to attend college in 2024 your CAO number should start with 24.
This is not the same as your Leaving Certificate examination number.
You can submit your NUI exemption application at any point in Senior Cycle, but applicants who submit in advance of having a CAO number will need to advise NUI of their CAO number (once received) for the exemption to be linked to their CAO application.
